This year, the start of a new decade, seems to call for something different in the resolutions department. I’d like to be smarter, more pragmatic about my professional objectives; and so I’m digging out some old gear from my bat bag: the SMART system. My goals this year will be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely. I even have a slogan for them: 10 in 2010.
Top on that top-10 list is improving our interaction with our readers. At Today in PT we aim to be your first choice for physical therapy news and professional information, and your feedback will help us better meet your needs. The SMART (and simply smart) way to accomplish that goal is to ask you. In this issue you’ll find the first of our reader surveys. It’s free and easy. Simply fill out the form and drop it in the mail. Easier yet, complete the survey online at TodayinPT.com.
In addition to how and where you read the magazine, we’re interested in what interests you. Would you like to see news about your colleagues or summaries of current research? Would discussion of legislative or ethical issues catch your eye? Would you find how-to articles on, say, managing your practice or navigating reimbursement rules, of most help to you? We’d love to know.
We realize you’re a busy professional, but completing the survey will take only a few moments of your time. Consider it an investment into your professional development. Hey, maybe that kind of investment could be one of your own 10 in 2010 goals!
And remember, we’re always eager to gain your input. Drop us an e-mail at pteditor@todayinpt.com, visit us online at TodayinPT.com or friend us on Facebook at TodayinPT (dot) com.
Together, we can make a winning team. I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
