The job:
Sitka Community Hospital is looking for a physical therapist to be part of the interdisciplinary care team. There are openings in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a wide range of specialty opportunities.
Why this is a dream job:
Sitka Community is committed to providing one-on-one care to clients scheduled on the hour. The clinic sits on the beach, boasting views of a marina and Mount Edgecumbe volcano. Additionally, the facility offers private treatment rooms and a spacious gym.
Types of patients and injuries you would work with:
Specialty programs include women’s health, sports medicine, worksite wellness, personal wellness and fitness. As a small-town hospital and outpatient facility, therapists see all diagnoses throughout the life span.
Word on the street — what your colleague has to say about this employer:
“This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic rehabilitation program at a community hospital dedicated to service and healthcare excellence. We’re given the opportunity to grow and develop skills in a non-stressful environment,” says Kay Turner, PT coordinator.
What you could do for fun if you lived here:
Nestled on the western coast of Baranof Island, Sitka is thought to be the most beautiful of the Southeast Alaska cities. Sitka is flanked on the east by majestic, snow-capped mountains and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. The area is a recreation paradise with boating, fishing, hunting and hiking opportunities galore.
What you would be paid:
PT salaries range from $54,226 to $78,978, commensurate with experience. Sitka Community offers an outstanding benefits package and relocation assistance to PTs interested in full-time employment. Sitka Community also offers housing and vehicle use for therapists coming on a “try it and see if you like it” basis.
